Workshops Saturday the 13th of September – Special guest instructor from Auckland – Elaine Mead!
Intermediate - Plus technique workshop
This workshop will be split into two parts. In the first we will be teaching 2 – 3 Intermediate – Plus level moves. The second we will make the most of Elaine's vast teaching and dancing knowledge to give some specific coaching and feedback to the workshop participants. A video camera will also be used as a feedback tool in this section.
This workshop will only be open to experienced Intermediate Plus and Advanced level dancers.
Time: Saturday 13th October 10.00am – 12.00pm
Venue: South Dunedin Community Hall, King Edward Street, South Dunedin (Saxman venue)
Fee: $25
Beginner to Intro-Mediate Moving up workshop
A very popular workshop covering core beg moves, timing, leading and following, spinning and free styling, as well as an intro to some intermediate techniques.
We will also be adding some of the valuable points that Elaine teaches in the Auckland moving up workshop!!
This workshop will help with the transition from beginner to Intro-Mediate. It is a valuable workshop to do even if you have already tried Intro-Mediate classes or have already done the workshop before.
Time: Saturday 13th October 12.15pm – 2.45pm
Venue: South Dunedin Community Hall, King Edward Street, South Dunedin (Saxman venue)
Fee: $25
Close Moves workshop – Intermediate
In this fun workshop John and Elaine will teach a combination of simple "close moves" and some core techniques for transforming regular Ceroc moves into close moves.
This workshop will be non-rotational, so you will need to register with a partner. The moves will not be too 'explicit'; they will just be fun freestylable 'close' moves.
Time: Saturday 13th October 3.00pm – 5.00pm
Venue: South Dunedin Community Hall, King Edward Street, South Dunedin (Saxman venue)
Fee: $25
Please note that you can attend two workshops for just $40.00!
"Monthly Dance Party"
13th of September
Theme: Following the Auckland influence on the weekend, the theme for the party will be:
"BAD"
Anything BAD, bad hair, bad taste, bad-ass villians, naughty nurses & nuns, all are welcome!

Monday Night social dancing at the Victoria Hotel
Every Monday night a group of dedicated Dunedin Ceroc dancers have been gathering at the Victoria Hotel on the corner of St Andrews Street and Cumberland Street (just opposite Cadburys).
This is an excellent opportunity to get out on a Monday night and enjoy dancing to some great music on a fantastic dance floor and in a very nice environment. This is open to any one, there are no charges, just a good social dance night. An awesome time to practice your new moves!!

Change to restricted entry - some restrictions now lifted
There has been a great response by the men in the last few weeks and we are able to open up some of the restricted events again to ladies booking with a man. The current situation is as follows:
The following events do not have restricted entry:
- the Phatt Pig Friday dinner & dance
- the Grand Masquerade Ball

The following events currently have an imbalance of ladies to men so ladies will not be able to register for these events on their own. Ladies can register at the same time as a man. If we get more men registering then we may be able to accept more ladies later so please let us know if you would like to go on the waiting list.

Quotes for the week
"Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present"~Unknown
"Quoting one is plagiarism; quoting many is research!" ~ Unknown
The language of movement requires no words - neither for its expression, nor for its understanding.
Without uttering a syllable, the vocabulary of dance speaks directly to the senses, seducing the heart and securing the soul.
~ Royal NZ Ballet ~
