Ceroc Dunedin News and Events - 1st November 07
Hi Everyone, Firstly due to a mix up at the Burns Hall we will have to move our classes on Thursday the 8th of November (Thursday week) to the St Johns Church Hall in Roslyn. Classes will run 3o minutes later than normal. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It's going to be an Exciting weekend this weekend! On Saturday we are very lucky to have Emma Carpenter from Ceroc Southern Lakes visiting Dunedin to teach her Express Yourself workshop. Emma is a wonderfully expressive dancer who makes the most of every piece of music that she dances to. Our extremely expressive instructor, Ben Plows-Kolff, will be assisting her, this will be a supercharged fun workshop that no-one should miss! And if that is not enough, we also have Ben teaching his Express Your Music Workshop This is an intermediate-level musicality workshop dedicated to appreciating the distinctive qualities of the various musical styles encountered in Ceroc and harmonising the way we dance with the qualities of the music we are listening to. It will be a similar kind of workshop to Adam & Mandy's Musicality workshop taught at Super Ceroc 2006 but obviously taught very differently. Our dance party this Saturday night will be Celebrating Ben's departure from the Dunedin Ceroc dance scene and uni life, he is moving back to Nelson! This will be a HUGE party, and don't forget the theme: A Flamboyant Halloween Both of the workshops and the party will be held at the The Wesley Street church Hall in South Dunedin . The hall is just behind the church on the corner of Hillside Road and Wesley Street . There will be fun demonstrations and competitions throughout the night! See below for details.
The Ceroc Dunedin newsletter comes out every 2-3 weeks and keeps you all up to date with the social events and workshops that are being planned here in Dunedin and in other towns throughout NZ. We also include interesting stories and some great dance movement advice from teachers and dancers nationwide. In relation to the new spam regulations, we at Ceroc Dunedin assume that by providing us with your email addresses you are then giving us permission to send this newsletter.

Quotes for the week
"We need education in the obvious more that investigation of the obscure" ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr
"Sixty years ago I knew everything; now I know nothing; Education is the progressive discovery of our ignorance." ~ Will Durant
The language of movement requires no words - neither for its expression, nor for its understanding.
Without uttering a syllable, the vocabulary of dance speaks directly to the senses, seducing the heart and securing the soul.
~ Royal NZ Ballet ~
Kind Regards
