Special News Letter - Change of venue this Wedneasday night and other stuff :-)

Hi Everyone,


The Ceroc Dunedin newsletter comes out every 3-4 weeks and keeps you all up to date with the social events and workshops that are being planned here in Dunedin and in other towns throughout NZ. We also include interesting stories and some great dance movement advice from teachers and dancers nationwide.



Change of venue for this weeks Wednesday night class!



Unfortunately we will have to move from the Burns Hall for one more Wednesday and one more Thursday night (November 16th) before the end of the year.



TOMORROW night the 18th of October we will be moving to the Dunedin Senior Citizens Club in the Octagon. The entry to this venue is between the Craft Bar and The Terrace Bar on the North side of the Octagon. This is a very nice room with lots of space for freestyle. You can still park at the Burns Hall and walk around to the Octagon Club, there will be a map on the door of the Burns Hall for those who are still not sure of the location.



Classes will be at the NORMAL time of 5.45 – 6.45pm for intermediates and 7.00pm – 8.00pm for beginners. We will have freestyle through till 10.00pm and I'm sure we will be stopping at the Craft Bar for a quiet one on the way home.

Great to see so many people at our last monthly dance, the dance cards went well and got most people up on the dance floor.



Next Monthly Dance is:



Date: 4th November

Where: St Johns Church Hall - entry up drive way on

Corner of Wrights St and 373 Highgate. The hall is behind the church at end of drive (some parking inside by hall).

Theme: Uniforms (lots of scope for this one!!!)

Fee: $5.00 with a plate between two people.

$10.00 without a plate.

Train Trip Barn Dance:



All those who have booked tickets need to confirm as we have a waiting list also money needs to be in by the 1st of November if I am not at class you can give money to Brent with name tickets are $79.00 or cheques can be made out to Taieri Gorge Railway. I also need people to take billets from Christchurch for this weekend if you can help out please let me know.



Of course this is an entire weekend of events with a dance party on Friday night, a workshop on Saturday afternoon, the train trip Saturday night and brunch Sunday morning. We will have lots of visitors from out of town; mark this weekend in your dairy as one not to miss!!



Christmas Dance:



Date: 16th December

Where: Burns Hall - First Church of Otago

Theme: Christmas and if we are lucky Santa may be there. John will fill in more.



A lot of people are interested in going out the odd weekend to dance so looking at maybe putting it on the Blog site after Wednesdays also trying to work out nights at the Arc cafe in High St hope to have more on this next newsletter.

Simply Ceroc Weekend – it's finally here!

Yes, the Simply Ceroc Weekend is starting in 4 days time and it's going to be absolutely fantastic! Here is the latest information about it.



a) Visitors from out of town

We are very pleased to have over 360 people registered for the weekend now – 232 of those from outside Wellington .

b) Sold out events

The Showcase Spectacular is sold out with 250 people and the Grand Ball is sold out with 300 people. Due to the Ball selling out, the Beginners Package is no longer available but beginner dancers are still welcome to join in with the Espresso and Pizzazz workshops.



The Phatt Pig Friday dinner is now sold out as well. Everyone is still welcome to join us for dancing at the Loaded Hogg after 9pm on Friday.



c) Workshops

Gentlemen – we need 1 man for the Lifts, Seducers and Drops workshop and 1 for the Baby Dips, Drops and Aerials workshop. Please do let us know asap if you would like to do either of these.



We also still need a few more men for the Blues, Latin Flavour, Music Interpretation Reloaded, Advanced Moves and Cha Cha into Ceroc workshops. Please do let us know asap if you would like to do any of these.



We can take ladies and men booking together on the Espresso, Pizzazz, Blues, Music Interpretation Reloaded, Advanced Moves, Cha Cha into Ceroc and DDA workshops. Please do let us know asap if you would like to do any of these.



d) Social events

Due to a cancellation we can now take one more person on the Wine Down on Monday. The Morning After brunch still has 4 places available. Please let us know asap if you would like to go on either of these.
